Spectrum, Pete ‘Sonic Boom’ Kember, formerly of Spacemen 3, returns to Glasgow for a special full band gig on Saturday 13th December at Stereo on Renfield Lane.

Fresh from a full full US tour (including Mexico), playing this year’s ATP Festival in New York City and supporting My Bloody Valentine on a number of key UK dates, Spectrum will take a break from their hectic schedule to headline this festive gig with support from Glasgow-based band St Deluxe. Topping off the bill, Monorail record shop supremo Stephen of The Pastels will be in charge of dishing out a fine selection of tunes on the decks.

We recorded another new song (Please be Gentle) for our next album at Riverside Studio with the most excellent Calvin Johnson (Beat Happening/K Records/Dub Narcotic Sound System/Halo Benders… ).
He was great to work with and a real inspiration!!
Hopefully we can do it again someday..

Calvin Johnson will be coming to Riverside to produce a new song by us! we’re really happy about one and we’re really looking forward to it!!!!

Here’s a small film about us complete with Japanese translations!!

We’ve started recording our follow up album!! and we got the most excellent Stuart Braithwaite of Mogwai down to Riverside Recording Studios to produce the first track called ‘After the Fire’ it was really great to work with him and we’d like to thank him a lot for all his help!
We’ll be keeping this track under wraps for a wee while tho, but I’d say it’s one of our best!!

On the 26th of Sept at Glasgow’s Nice and Sleazy’s St Deluxe will be appearing with Vancouver band ‘Ladyhawk’.

We’re really excited to be playing with a great new band from Manchester called ‘the Beep Seals’  in Glasgow’s Nice and Sleazy’s  on the 15th of Aug. Their debut album ‘things that roar’ was produced by Norman Blake from Teenage Fanclub and there is a strong possibility that he may even appear with a solo spot too.
